Susan and Family of Ted Prosser:
It is with sadness and regret that I am unable to attend tomorrow's service. I have always enjoyed the company and friendship of people much older than myself. Their perspective on life and what they valued most has always been a good guide for me. Ted was just such a person.
In the last several years, we have kept in touch by telephone. Before that, I would drop in and visit at Appleton and Carleton Place - first at he and Pauline's home and then later at the Retirement Home. This is whenever I had a business trip to Ottawa.
Talking things over and getting Ted to laugh was always a great pleasure for me. One time, I had hockey tickets for the Senators. My daughter, Hope, was with me, and we stopped in to see Ted at the Retirement Home. It was late afternoon, and Ted kept checking his watch as if he was anxious for us to leave. Finally, he came clean. It seems a few of the residents got together at 5:00 pm each afternoon for a scotch and it was getting close to that time! Ted didn't want to miss his drink with friends! We finished our visit and let him get his drink.
I felt honoured and lucky to know Ted this past 40 plus years and also to be invited to his 100th birthday party on June 15th. He's the only 100 year old person I have ever known. To Ted's family, especially the youngest ones - appreciate your family, respect and honour your history. This is your guide to the future. With love, Michael Parker

Susan and Family,

I will always remember your father as a gentleman, interested and respectful of the views of others, trustworthy in all his business dealings,
dedicated to and proud of his family, with an enthusiastic sense of community.
My condolences for your loss, he will be missed by all of us whose lives he touched. He made us all better!
I remember fondly Marilyn and I attending the Prosser family Christmas parties in Cobourg in years gone by.

In sympathy,

Rob Easson
