Condolence: Rest in Eternal Peace, my very dear and respected friend. To Lorraine, Douglas, Michael, Steven and your extended families, I extend my heartfelt sympathy and respect. Ken was an exceptionally important friend and influence, even tho we worked together but for a short time. I am eternally grateful for the friendship and respect we had, and will remember your family always. I wish you Peace in his passing, with full knowledge that he would want no less than that.

Condolence: Our condolences to the Martin family on the passing of Ken. I have known Ken since I was 6 or 7 years old and am so grateful we have kept in touch over the past number of years. My fondest memories are of the McCormack pool parties and watching our parents throwing each other in the pool. As kids, Steve and I thought that was pretty cool. Or the time Ken and Roy came home from the mess hall pretending to be drunk and Doug trying to send Steve and I to bed. Or everytime Ken and Lorraine came to visit after they moved away from Trenton and the first thing Ken wanted to do was order a Jim's Pizza. How many times did Dad and Kenny take Steve and I to the hockey rink? I could go on and on but as an adult our appreciation for our parents and the enduring friendship with the Martin family is one we will always treasure. we are so fortunate to have been able to visit with Ken this past February to play some cards and have a couple of beers with him. We will miss you Kenny but know you are at peace with our Lord.

Condolence: Ken Martin and I arrived in Camp Borden in September, 1954.

We were both 16 and members of the RCASC Apprentice Training Company. We were assigned to #7 Platoon with 28 other teenage "Boy Soldiers" and billeted in rudimentary World War 11 "H-Huts" (S-22-B) where we got a shocking peek into what was about to come. Things that would dominate our lives for the next two years. Things that would create feelings which delivered us to the depths of despair, and moments where our minds would exhileratingly soar to the highest of highs.

Over the next two years we would be exposed to rigorous training, and in the ensuing 24 months inexplicably evolve into manhood, and establish lasting bonds.

Many times in Ken's company, and at previous military reunions; we paid our compliments to Kenny; extended our gratitude and expressed our thanks to this devoted friend – which, just thinking about this, we become more acutely aware of a “time” in our lives, and of its end.

We can now be certain that Kenny Martin would only ask that we remember his beloved wife Lorraine, his children and extended family. Our prayers are with you Lorraine, and may the God of all comfort and peace hold you and your family in His arms and carry you through this time of difficulty.

Happy to meet; Sorry to Part; Happy to Meet Again.

Condolence: My deepest empathy goes to Lorraine and all of Ken's family at this time of great loss. I will always think of Ken with great fondness. He was such a kind, gentle and patient man and I will never forget how much he and Lorraine did for my grandfather while in Winnipeg. I hope you will understand that I cannot be with you for the funeral, but my Mom and Dad, Alfred and Beverley will be there and send love from our family. Thinking of Ken and you all with an open heart.
